One of the greatest things of my job is hearing how our business really affects people -  especially when its a success!

One of our own wellness team members just recently joined our patients in receiving the excellent care from Dr. Koppel and our nutritionist Susan, and this is what she had to say:

As a headache sufferer for as long as I can remember,

the only thing that has changed over the years was how bad the headaches were. Ranging from mild and annoying to head-splitting migraines that drove me straight to bed and caused me to miss work, I started to realize the head-splitting migraines were becoming more intense and more frequent. As a Mom and a massage therapist, it was unacceptable to me to go through life like this. I certainly didn’t want to go on medication, so I made the decision to get this under control now, before it got any worse and I wound up in the hospital.

I had been adjusted in the past, but while it felt good, it wasn’t getting to the problem. My neck hurt so much and was that tight that past chiropractors couldn’t get to it. I have been working for Dr. Koppel for almost two years, and through getting to know the patients and their success stories, I began to think that he was the doctor for me and after a particularly nasty migraine that almost did land me in the hospital, I became a patient.

Though my treatments have not been consistent, what with work and being a Mom and life in general (yes, I DO know how it is) I absolutely cannot believe the difference. As a health care provider within the holistic medicine field myself, you wouldn’t expect me to be amazed. After all, I see it every day in the patients I treat, but when it affects you personally, it’s a whole different story.

Through treatments of acupuncture, massage and adjustments, I have begun to feel hope and see the light at the end of the tunnel…I don’t have to live in pain for the rest of my life!

The journey toward my well-being began with the detoxification program we did together in the office. It was one of the easiest things I have ever done. By the second day I began to have more energy, my head felt clearer, I woke up in the morning without aches and pains and surprisingly to me I wasn’t hungry. I just felt great! The added benefit of losing eight pounds was a bonus, and just the kick I needed to finally start shedding the “baby weight” I had been carrying….for the last five years! I have continued to eat clean, supplementing my not always perfect diet with vitamins, protein shakes and all the other good stuff we need but don’t really get in our daily diet. I still feel fantastic and I’m going strong. I did the happy dance when I hit the 15 pound mark and had lost 2 inches off my hips! Woo hooo!!!

I am also very happy to say that I haven’t had a migraine since I started treatments. Yes, I still get headaches. I’ve been suffering with them for so many years that I know it will be a while until they are gone, but well-being is a lifelong process. I feel that now I have the tools and support to help myself feel better.

The decision for our well-being is all in our own hands. I have never been one to take pills and my husband always argues with me when I get a cold to “take something for it”….I never do. I came into this field with a desire to help others, and it has in turn wound up helping me. Without the help, care and understanding from Dr. Koppel, I’m sure I would have wound up on medication for my migraines, and that just would have led to a myriad of other issues.

I feel really good now. I have energy, my headaches are much less, which in turn has lowered my stress level, and I’m losing weight and have an overall sense of well being, and that would not have been possible without Dr. Koppel.
