I have been seeing Dr. Koppel for at least 8 years now. He is extremely professional and very passionate about his work. I always feel so rejuvenated and aligned after every adjustment.. As a headache sufferer for as long as I can remember, the only thing that has changed over the years was how bad the headaches were. Ranging from mild and annoying to head-splitting migraines that drove me straight to bed and caused me to miss work, I started to realize the head-splitting migraines were becoming more intense and more frequent. As a Mom and a massage therapist, it was unacceptable to me to go through life like this. I certainly didn’t want to go on medication, so I made the decision to get this under control now, before it got any worse and I wound up in the hospital.

I had been adjusted in the past, but while it felt good, it wasn’t getting to the problem. My neck hurt so much and was that tight that past chiropractors couldn’t get to it. I have been working for Dr. Koppel for almost two years, and through getting to know the patients and their success stories, I began to think that he was the doctor for me and after a particularly nasty migraine that almost did land me in the hospital, I became a patient.

Though my treatments have not been consistent, what with work and being a Mom and life in general (yes, I DO know how it is) I absolutely cannot believe the difference. As a health care provider within the holistic medicine field myself, you wouldn’t expect me to be amazed. After all, I see it every day in the patients I treat, but when it affects you personally, it’s a whole different story.

Through treatments of acupuncture, massage and adjustments, I have begun to feel hope and see the light at the end of the tunnel…I don’t have to live in pain for the rest of my life!

The journey toward my well-being began with the detoxification program we did together in the office. It was one of the easiest things I have ever done. By the second day I began to have more energy, my head felt clearer, I woke up in the morning without aches and pains and surprisingly to me I wasn’t hungry. I just felt great! The added benefit of losing eight pounds was a bonus, and just the kick I needed to finally start shedding the “baby weight” I had been carrying…. for the last five years! I have continued to eat clean, supplementing my not always perfect diet with vitamins, protein shakes and all the other good stuff we need but don’t really get in our daily diet. I still feel fantastic and I’m going strong. I did the happy dance when I hit the 15 pound mark and had lost 2 inches off my hips! Woo hooo!!!

I am also very happy to say that I haven’t had a migraine since I started treatments. Yes, I still get headaches. I’ve been suffering with them for so many years that I know it will be a while until they are gone, but well-being is a lifelong process. I feel that now I have the tools and support to help myself feel better.

The decision for our well-being is all in our own hands. I have never been one to take pills and my husband always argues with me when I get a cold to “take something for it”….I never do. I came into this field with a desire to help others, and it has in turn wound up helping me. Without the help, care and understanding from Dr. Koppel, I’m sure I would have wound up on medication for my migraines, and that just would have led to a myriad of other issues.

I feel really good now. I have energy, my headaches are much less, which in turn has lowered my stress level, and I’m losing weight and have an overall sense of well being, and that would not have been possible without Dr. Koppel.

Back in November of 2010, I was in a car accident – I was rear-ended which proceeded to make me rear-end the car in front of me. I was seriously injured – neck pain with many headaches, shoulder and back pain, and I had numbness in my right hand. I was told I was completely disabled after I had an MRI and EMG. I had never experienced aches and pains like this, so I came to Dr. Koppel. I had seen many other doctors for this, but they couldn't do the job. Dr. Koppel has done the best. I came in, got adjusted and a massage, and felt amazingly better. I have been a patient since, and every time I leave his office after getting adjusted and massages, I feel so much better than when I walked in the door.

I love the work the doctor does. He is just great. I went to a different chiropractor one time, and swore that I would never go to another chiropractor again; I was in such bad shape after that visit. I have lower back pain, and one time while at a Pilate’s session, I strained my back. The instructor, a mutual friend of Dr. Koppel’s and I, recommended Neil, I came to him reluctantly. After that visit, I became his patient, and have been with him for the last 8 or 9 years. The whole family comes to see him, even my grandchildren. He just does such a great job.

Dear Dr. Koppel,

I know you probably thought that me sending a letter like this was a lost cause by now, but please understand that I just wanted to wait until after our baby was born. I was worried that writing in advance of her birth could be a jinx of some sort.

I am writing to thank you for helping to get my health in order. I know that without your help, I never would have been able to prepare my body for what was to come. Your acupuncture, chiropractic, as well as nutritional guidance was key in awakening systems of my body that had 'gone to sleep' because of my multiple sclerosis. Your services undoubtedly played a part in getting my MS under control, allowing my body to work in ways that it hadn't in years.

As you know, I originally came to you for help with infertility. You right away refused to perform acupuncture for fertility because as your scanning system found, I was "toxic". You insisted on getting me healthy. With your help I did something I was unable to do since MS started to present symptoms in my body....I lost weight. I didn't just drop a couple of pounds, I dropped 14 lbs in the first 10 days of seeing you. I ultimately lost a total of 30 lbs with your nutritional guidance! I never thought I would have a shape that would allow me to present myself with confidence again.

Finally, thank you for all you did to aid me in my goal of getting pregnant. Your acupuncture skills thickened my uterine lining, and allowed me to enter IVF treatments prepared to accept an embryo. Thanks to your help my ultimate goal of pregnancy was achieved on the first try with IVF. Just over a week ago, I delivered a beautiful baby girl, Idina Rae on August 7th (I know I originally told you boy, but after 2 months of telling me boy, they realized that what appeared to be a male part was actually just the umbilical cord, and that we were expecting a girl). I only gained 20 lbs back during the course of the pregnancy, 13.5 of which I have already lost. I carried in a way that I barely looked pregnant even at the end of the pregnancy. It was only when I turned sideways that I looked like I was hiding a little ball.

Thank you for your role in affording me the biggest blessing I could have ever asked for in life. I got through the pregnancy healthy, no pre-eclampsia, no gestational diabetes, no complications, and now I have a beautiful, healthy girl. Once I am allowed to drive again, I will be sure to stop by and introduce you to Idina Rae.
